@megg,
In answer to your question, I don't know. Why don't you provide 3 statements?

@megg,
The universe doesn't care about you. You are nothing in the grand scheme of things. The universe will rumble on its remorseless course whether or not you exist. Therefore, describing "life" as a series of gambles begs the question of whether or not the universe is tailored to your existence. There is no reason to assume that it is. So, from the point of view of someone who sees him- or herself in particular or the human race in general as the center of the the universe, and the point of the existence of the universe, randomly occurring events are likely to seem to be "gambles." In fact, your life can only be conditioned by your responses to the randomness of the universe of which you are a part.

Oh . . . i forgot your three constructive statements.

1. The universe doesn't "care" about you.

2. You are not the center of nor the purpose for the existence of the universe.

3. Considering the inevitable necessity of dealing with the randomness of events in the universe to be gambles begs the question.
