@Bonnibel,
We don't know what you are talking about, really. What staff (you can be vague)? Where are you (you can be vague) applying?
I'm sorry, this all sounds rather junior high and you are past that.

@Bonnibel,
Hi bonnibel. What country was this certificate awarded in?

There are posters here from around the world. It might help if people knew what nation the national book association is in if they are to help you find the information you're looking for.

@Bonnibel,

I am happy for your daughter, but these were specific (long, chapter) books. Not picture books. Nationally chosen to read and to vote for the best author to receive and award. That is why Stephenie Meyer received the award and thus they made a movie out of it. My vote counted towards that.

The decision to make a film out of Stephenie Meyer's book was, I'm sure, made by her agent and her, acting jointly. It didn't hurt that she had a runaway, tween-friendly bestseller and a few more in the can. I work for her publisher -- book to film conversions are based on a lot of factors (marketing, whether the rights can be obtained, etc.). I don't know what you were told, but I seriously doubt that any surveys had any part in it.

@Bonnibel,
OK, this is a situation in which I can see adding it -- if you basically have a job lined up, have a very sparse resume, and the person who will be hiring you is advising you to just get more STUFF on your resume to make things look a little better to higher-ups who might give it a cursory glance.

I don't really have enough info to know if that's the situation, though. (Is it? And if not, what is the situation?)

@Bonnibel,
A few more questions:

Was it a summer reading club? Or during the regular school year?

What state do you live in (if you live in America)?

Do you remember if Twilight won this student choice book award? If not, do you remember who did win that year?
