Sounds pretty, letty. But, summer is bearing down on us in Tomball with drought and scorching temperatures. June, normally our wettest month, had just a trace early on. It has been 29 days since the last showers, with no relief in store. Some areas are having to boil their water. My lawn looks like weed killer flooded it.
Andreas, the first named hurricane,
Is hanging in the gulf,
What a way to water the earth,
Mother nature is insane.

@Letty,
the sleepy insect drone
a hawk's shadow grazing the yellow grass
a distant ringing phone
I wake with a start
Better go in and start supper

@Letty,
triple digit days and sweltering nights
hungry farm workers, nasty bar fights
sunflowers stretch and reach for the skies
while moonflowers open as the twilight dies
only in summer do all things grow
sweaty and beautiful, row by row
Great panz and rock.
I am always in awe of the poet inside,
Never mind what the time; Never mind what the tide.
There 's the wonderful dog with Vivaldi's Four Seasons,
Let's hear it for paws
And the season for reason.

Specifically, that was the second, adagio movement, entitled: "Summer."
