I have some plates which are stamped on the back. The original stamp is Grindley but then they are overstamped with
"MADE IN ENGLAND FOR WEBB'S SALON - THE MYER EMPORIUM LTD. MELBOURNE"
Does anyone know what Webb's Salon was? Was it a restaurant or perhaps a china department? I would be very appreciative if anyone could satisfy my curiosity.
Thanks
@catgirl,
That's harder than this week's Mighty Mega.

Why don't you give Myers a call, I'm sure their PR person will only be to pleased to assist you. Good luck.
@catgirl,
Hi, I have a bowl with the same mark. Out of curiosity I did a search and found your message.
Reference is made in The Age to an exhibition of china there in 1935. Was probably tea rooms with occasional exhibits

Webb's salon at The Myer Emporium seems to be an exclusive China, and crystal shop in the Myer store itself. About 1925-1930. I also have some plates, but they are not Grindley, but Bishop pottery. Other one is made for Thos Webb of Melbourne & marked Oriental Ivory(1890).
I've been trying to find also have dinner and tea set
