Hi there,

How can I achieve the DTS/Dolby effect from a laptop sound output on an 5 channel amplifier system (using its auxiliary input) also?

I tried Pro-Logic mode of the amplifier (rather than surround) when the laptop is connected to its auxiliary mode. But it is not upto the mark either.

My DVD player is connnected to my amplifier via a coaxial cable. So when I play a DVD, the amplifier itself shows the mode of the DVD (DTS or Dolby) and starts playing sound in that mode. But the same doesnt happen when I connect my laptop to the amplifier which might be playing playing the same DVD file. The sound just remains surround (but not DTS/Dolby).

Should I try coaxial cable? but how would that connect to my laptop?

Thx
