@littlek,
Yeah.

It would've been nice if it could've been a non-issue during the run of American Idol, but I still think it's encouraging that he "came out" (quotes 'cause it doesn't seem like he was ever that closeted, just didn't say "I'm gay" in so many words) now, during a pretty crucial period in his career.

I dunno, he sounds incredibly sane about how he handles himself.

@littlek,
...what don't you know about then? (He seems sane to me too.)

For all that he lost, Adam Lambert seems to be in the public eye much more than Kris Allen. I see that Lambert is now on the cover of Rolling Stone and his face seems to pop up much more often than Allen's. Losing didn't really seem to hurt him all that much.

I was reading this morning in the local paper, that block voting by "American
Idol" fans swamp the polls. Three girls from Arkansas have sent 11,700 votes
alone on the final night for Kris.

Block voting has become such a problem that they need to come up with a
different voting system, if it should be an honest competition.

It was reported of the 100 million votes cast, 38 million came from the State of Arkansas (w/ a population of less than 3 million people). Clearly, the block voters from Arkansas determined the winner of American Idol this year. Kris is a talented singer and I'm happy for him. This win will help him to launch his career as a recording artist.

My husband and I loved almost all of the contestants this year, but Adam stood out as the star. We believed that Adam would be the biggest winner if he actually lost the contest. By "losing" the contest, Adam is now free to be the architect of his own future.

Which is likely why he looked so genuinely happy when he came in second.
