My first cousin was first cousin to Mel Torme.
As for brushes with the famous--I met Paul Newman once. I was speechless. He seemed nice enough. I also met Eugene McCarthy (remember him?) I liked him. And I met Ed Koch. A bit arrogant. I ran into Lauren Bacall at my doctor's office. She told me not to step on her dog.
I met Mickey Mantle and Whitey Ford. I was a teenager, and I giggled too much to make conversation. I remember they were tan.
If I think of any more, I'll be back.

Never met the guy. And I am not he. The only thing I ever terminated was a few bugs. And a mouse, but that was an accident.

William Shakespeare...Samuel Morse...Grover Cleveland.....as for associations I have snorted cocaine and gotten high with a bunch of Rock Stars I won't name, but that was in the seventies and eighties.
One of the only regular jobs I ever had, and you'll love this, was working for the NNFD department of Babcock & Wilcox, in the inspection department. I inspected and approved nuclear fuel fillers. Had a confidential Government clearance so I don't think I can say much more than that. Met Admiral Rickover one day. I was stoned.

My great aunt gertrude, who married a bigamist, another story altogether, was the private secretary to wallace-simpson, they said, whoever they are...
anyways, they said the reason she got the job was cause she was distantly related to the royals. So I guess by default I am too, who knew, I got me some blue blood floating around my veins.

Through some genealogy pages I ran across I learned that the part of the family bearing my real surname came here from Georgia. Since I have run across many many black Americans with that name, I have had to consider whether my ancestors were slave owners. I sincerely hope not, but, it doesn't look good. At any rate, I have spent my life doing a liberal's work of seeking freedom for all, so I don't feel any guilt.

Wow, Monger, Les Miserables is one of my favorite fictions. It's always held a special place in my heart ever since reading (required) it in junior high school.

If I had such a connection, no matter how far a relationship, I'd still brag about it. LOL

I am related to a WWF guy, the assassin? I think the assassin. His name has somthing to do with death. We don't keep in touch with him, but I met him when I was young, played some mario bros with his kids.
I am also related to the original exorcist on whom the book was based, but through marriage - my cousin's dad's lineage. And they're nuts, (big suprise.)

Well....better late than never to find this post....haha.
Its told in our family that Bob and Charlie Ford are kin. Hum.....you know, those sneaky thugs that killed Jesse James..?
BUT.....my most memorable moment in meeting a famous person come one day on the lake fishin'....we trolled up to this bass boat, and the guide started a conversation with us....the man he was guiding didn't speak....and of all people, it was Hank Jr. He noticed me checking him out....and he just smiled at me. Talk about making my day.....haha.

I am descended from Larry Christ. I know they don't mention him much in the bible, but he was Jesus' younger, less succesful brother. He started off as a schmata salesman in Messopotamia, and eventually got into the furniture business. He never did as well as his celebrity brother, but he always provided. We are proud to call him an ancestor.
