i got an envelope

CONCEPT

Igotanenvelope is a continuous art project where people leave empty self-addressed stamped envelopes in public places to be picked up and filled by others, who then send them back.

WANT TO PARTICIPATE ?

1. Write the following message on a small sheet of paper:

Dear finder, put something personal inside the envelope and then return it to me. Be as original and artistic as possible and the content of the envelope will be submitted to igotanenvelope.com.

2. Attach the sheet (with a paper clip) to the envelope.

3. Write your address and put a valid stamp on the envelope.

4. Leave the envelope in a public place and wait for its return.

GOT ENVELOPES IN RETURN ?

Take a close-up picture of the content, or scan it, and email it at [email protected] (be sure to indicate where you left your envelope).

So, I wonder how many folks would do the above? Especially seeing that postage anywhere isn't cheap anymore. Also, leaving your address out in the open.

I will call you a skeptic because anyone who walks by your house can get your address.
Anyone who drives by
anyone who looks at your trash.

Your home address is not anything to worry about. Wink

Think about it.
How many homes do YOU drive by every day? any and all of them are easy to get, just pull over and write it down.

i think i'll try it when i go away, leave the envelope somewhere on a vacation so you get something from elsewhere, that seems cool

Im going to San Antonio in about 2 weeks, then back to Galveston sometime soon....

Pick up a part-time job in an office. It's amazing how many letters come in without the stamp being franked. I've probably got at least 20 stamps at my desk right now - trying to find someone who sends letters who needs stamps. This might be a good outlet for them.

It's definitely not something everyone could buy into, but your information's so easily obtainable that getting an envelope that you've addressed yourself seems benign by comparison.
