I've been driving by this every day, and finally got out of the car and made a video. Wally doesn't know what it is either.

@chai2,
It would appear to be some sort of alien communication device. I could be wrong. Maybe ask the owners.

Nick is right, and the next time you drive past you should make sure you have your heads draped in tin foil. Safety first.

No one's ever there when I drive by, to and from work.

At first, they were all facing t he same way, with the wood side toward the street. I thought they might be solar panels. I thought that they had a device set up where the panels could tilt and pick up the maximum amount of sunlight.

Now, they're facing in different directions.

Maybe it is some type of SETI device.

I'm going to be on the look out for crop circles appearing on those grass panels.

So, really, no one has an idea????

@chai2,
I wonder if it has something to do with sod? Or plantings? It seems their being able to move controls the amount of light it gets...I was wondering if the green tubes are some type of irrigation? My husband looked at it as well and said he had no clue what it was. Very strange - can't wait to find out what it is...

Looks a little like the stuff they put in the insulation panels on swamp coolers.

@chai2,
Artwork maybe? Or an experiment of some type?

What are those cable-like things near the axis of each panel? Is the whole structure powered to rotate or something?

Could they be sprouting what will eventually become the material for a thatch roof?

@rosborne979,
Maybe it is some sort of drip irrigation system that provides moisture to the thatch sprouts.

This contraption has been around for awhile, and given the amount of mulch in the driveway we know that it gets reloaded often. Sprouts sounds right, but it would be food for sale. My guess would be black market sprouts for Asian food vendors.

Well, there is a For Sale sign in the front. Didn't you notice that?
