thanks to all...and mrs sp...must let me bring you a leave or two next time we gather!

humm...now I dont know where to put the poor little thing for the winter. I could keep it on a table in an entryway..but, that may get too cold. In the house will get too warm...humm....wheres Goldilocks when you need her?

Okay, Ill weed the poor thing shortly and figure it all out. Thanks for all the input...so nice to hear so many with great Jade stories...well, other than that whole squirrel thing...which just makes me wonder how high up away from the cats it can be put as well.

The entry might work. 50 is pretty cool. Maybe in the entry unless the weather is downright wicked.

The entry has two windows so, it could actually work okay, I dont think it gets all that cold unless someone forgets to close the door....yeah, that could kill anything in winter. And well, come January/February and 0 or -20 or something I could bring it in and put it on a shelf for a bit I guess.

Looking askance at Bostonians with their jades. Jeez, we threw them away in LA. So, I need to reread about the carefullness required in a very different zone...

I don't think they're hard to keep here, but they definitely need to be thought-about.

My jades in the yard made it easily down to round 32... Venice rarely got below there.

Actually where I am now rarely gets below there either, but does, ever so slightly, like 28, once or twice a winter for a few hours.

Clearly I think of crassula as inexorable toughies, but I don't know about shock from changes. Still, I am betting on the jade. I think you have to beat them to death. (Awaiting being proved dead wrong...)

Osso... we Bostonians know that you Californians are overly jaded.

Hey, Osso! Your name on the ballot?

Qsso, I'd be proud not to have friends on that list.

But that has very litle to do with jade palnts... and I guess that's my fault.
