From 8-13 October 2003, Frankfurt will once again be the venue for the world's largest trade fair for books, multimedia and communications. Russia will be the new Guest of Honour.

Everyone who is anyone in the industry will be there: authors and publishers, booksellers and librarians, art dealers and illustrators, agents and journalists, information brokers and readers.

Not only is the Frankfurt Book Fair the meeting point for the business, it is also the world's largest marketplace for trading in publishing rights and licenses.
The website Franfurt Book Fair 2003 gives a lot of information about this year's book fair.

I've been there a couple of times, some years back.

It's too interesting to go there just for one day - but on the others, you can't see THE special author and discuss with THE other one. (Actually, it happened to me last time that all the three authors I'd liked to see, where there at the very same time. [So I went to an exhibition instead Laughing ])

hamburger and mrs. hamburger will be just outside of Frankfurt (Worms) from the 7th - 11th. I think hamburger is hoping to make a trip or two into the book fair. I think he's hoping to find some treasures. I think mrs. hamburger hopes he can resist (slim slim slim chance).
