if a population grows from 1000 to 1600 in 30 years how do I figure out annual the rate of growth.

This assumes an exponential rate of growth. There are lots of other ways to grow, and this answer will be wrong for any of them.


1000 * (1+N)^30 = 1600
(1+N)^30 = 1.6
1+N = 1.6^(1/30)

N=.0158
