I watched a documentary about lottery winners and losers, one guy from Hull lived in a modest terraced house, and he scooped the jackpot and bought himself a bigger house in a better district.
A few months later the people who bought his little terraced house also hit the jackpot, what are the odds of that?
They've got better luck than I do. Last night I got 4 out of 7 numbers on a $20 million jackpot, so ten bucks it is for this gal.
My heart was always warmed by the tale of a New Jersey boy who hit his state's lottery for a few tens of millions of dollars (forget the exact figure). He was immediately besieged by "friends" and relatives, but he was prepared. He issued a public statement that he would meet with all of his family and friends at such and such a time on a certain date. He bought a new boat, which he left parked prominently parked in front of his house, and hired someone to re-paint the house--and everyone left him in peace while awaiting the appointed day. On the appointed day, the whole crew showed up--but no jackpot winner. He has not been seen since.
kev...hadnt heard of that one...thats just astounding in the odds catagory
I dont play so, I cant win
I dont loose either
Quinn,
You are a winner, well compared to me anyway, I do a fiver a week, £250 per annum for 10 years = £2500 plus interest =say £3500.
Offset my winnings £40
Total flushed down the bog £3460
All of you are doing better than me. For the number of years I have been buying tickets, my total winings have been four dollars ( a bit over 2 Pounds).
