David - the law can't be amended (democratically or otherwise)
because the nature of law IS A CONTRACT BETWEEN SOCIETY
AND IT'S EXECUTIVE. Dead people are unable to honour their
obligations to participate in society - they are unable to express
an opinion and do things like pay taxes and vote. Dead is DEAD.
I find no merit in your arguments.
A viable legal infrastructure for the cryogenic concept
coud easily be created by statute; the courts woud enforce it.
According to your reasoning, there can be no contract with
an alien on alien territory. The viablity of a contract is
unrelated
to whether any party thereto pays taxes or votes.
No one has any obligation to "participate in society"
(unless u define that as paying taxes; even as to taxes,
the decedent 's accountants can attend to that).
Each of us is an individual; by associating, we create "society":
hence, the Individuals are the parents of society,
and it is their little child, under their authority.
Society shoud grovel at the feet of its creators: the Individuals.

Your view of the human body seems to be based on Meccano -
by attaching the correct parts and powering up, the effects of death
can be 'reversed'.
Yes; that has been done 1000s of times
in hospitals, who bring the dead back to life.
That 's old news.

You may also be of the opinion that on some pre-determined day
in time that the dead will somehow be raised up from the grave
intact to face a judgement.
I do not hold that opinion.
Nothing that I posted supports that opinion.
Upon the basis of testimony of people who
have gone thru it, I accept that Judgment Day
is the day of one 's alleged "death" and that the decedent
is his own judge, applying 2 criteria to his Earthly life:
love and learning.
If he returns to Earthly life,
then when his body wears out he can have another Judgment Day.
It seems that the Law of the Conservation of Energy applies to conscious life.

Both are wrong ; the type of trauma that causes death is irreversible,
the body at that point is just basically rotting -
freezing it is just a carnival trick; next,
Well, that was disproven long b4 u posted that.
People have been brought back from death
in hospitals many 1000s of times.
U r factually incorrect,
but I am not going to argue that on this forum.
