Did you really eat kangeroo? Does it taste like chicken too?
Dianne

Kangeroo meat is quite palatable Dianne and is on the menu of quite a few Restaurants here, besides you can buy it at the big Supermarts. The meat is very lean containing little saturated fats. I do the occasional steak on the bbq now and then, the taste is somewhat gamey but not as strong as venison.

@Dutchy,
We used to have alligator on a menu in California. Yuck.

No kick or bounce but a bit of a bite I would think. Too fishy from what I hear.

@bathsheba,
Yeah, we Don't taste like chicken...

(gators must be slow cooked as soup, and even then we have a bite...)

@Rockhead,
naw, wasn't tough at all. Bullwinkle wasn't very old when we ate him. You have to cook moose for a long time. We had it roasted and it's very dry, no fat really.

At least I didn't have to eat muskrat when I lived in the far north of British Columbia on an indian reserve. Or beaver Smile

@bathsheba,
I had an English teacher in high school whose nickname was Moose. She was a rather large lady with a giant nose and only the lack of antlers separated her from the actual creature. I never ate her or any other moose.

@gustavratzenhofer,
And I'm sure she was grateful to you for not eating her, gus. Although that's what you SAY. You may very well have eaten her. I don't think lady moose(es) have antlers do they? You would have to have gotten cuddly with her to see if she had little antlers in there somewhere....

@bathsheba,
I'm not quite certain she was a lady. She said she was but I never did believe her.

@gustavratzenhofer,
Meese can never be believed. They are consummate liars and I believe they can change their gender if they want to. She was probably a he.

There were protrusions on her head which may or not have indicated fledgling antlers.

@bathsheba,
You are more adventurous than me Bathy, I'll admit to have only tried Kangaroo steak, I'm more of a fish man. With a son in the fishing trade I get plenty of seafood varieties on my plate. My favourite is our own King George Whiting which has to be about the best we have to offer.

@Dutchy,
Oh, that does sound good. How do you fix it? Is it like cod?

I'll take fish any day over other types of meat. Since we live on the ocean we have oysters, clams, you name it. Even caught some prawns this summer.

Hope you're doing well today, Danny!
