@Izzie,
I was in a pet smart, most people bring their dogs with them, this person brought his capybera.

What next?

A llama?
The dali llama?

the capybera stood on my foot.

how many others can say that?

I touched the capybera, and in turn was touched by him.

It's all in the dance of the universe.

@chai2,
I got to pet a manatee, once. I mean, a real wild one. Well, I know it's difficult to visualize a Florida manatee being at all wild, but it wasn't in captivity.

@chai2,
You didn't like open your mouth and start to explain about an olde farmer you know...

I'm guessing not since he still let you pet his capybera. Smile

Is that some kind of euphemism?

@roger,
Rog- Right near me, there is a Tampa Electric plant. During the winter, the warm water from the plant entices the manatees to come near the building. The company has built a boardwalk that is open in the winter months. Tourists come to see the manatees play. What a wonderful sight!

In other words, it is a rat on steroids, (but they ARE cute!)

@Phoenix32890,
phoenix, your site gave a link where one could buy a capybera tshirt.

Imagine my disappointment when I clicked on it and it said "site under contruction"

squinny, petsmart is about as exotic as my life gets.

@chai2,
Really - I didn't know that you could have one as a pet. I have seen them at the zoo, but they didn't come close enough to touch.

@roger,
Cool - I'd love to touch one.

I held a python - it was a yellow one. That was cool.
