Believe it or not, I know a man -- a recovered alcoholic -- who did almost exactly the same thing quite a number of years ago. He went to sleep on the peoples' sofa, though, instead of one of their beds. He says he was awfully lucky that his 'hosts' refused to bring criminal charges after calling the police. Prob'ly one of the experiences that eventually drove him to A.A.
