Fictional minority again declared unwelcome by Hungarians

The Hungarian TÁRKI Social Research Institute conducts an annual survey on xenophobia. As part of the survey, the sociologists asks respondents whether they would accept or refuse refugees from a list of specific ethnic backgrounds. Standard fare, so far.

Except as control group, they slip in a fictional group: the Pirezians.

Hungarian press agency MTI reports that once again, Hungarians blithely dismissed entry for these obviously no-good Pirezian refugees...

@Robert Gentel,
it's my understanding that the Eloi have been granted preference status for US immigration.

@Robert Gentel,
I'd want a bunch of other nationalities interviewed in the same way before scoffing too much at the Hungarians, though.

It's a bit like the no longer existing Australian satirical show "CNNNN" used to do interviews with Americans in the street every week, which always made Americans look utterly cretinous, and one of their standard things was to ask people if they were ready to invade the Blefescuns, or should they let them into the country, or some such nonsensical question, and they'd usually say bad stuff about the imaginary country. I always used to think you'd get the same cretins with different accents in Oz.

Not that the poll would do editing and such, but I doubt Hungarians are especially xenophobic.....unless their history has made them so.

is the Eloi liver similar to Gypsy liver? Wait, no, that really is a dish in Slovakia. Sorry, am I being slightly off color?

You're being very black.....but that's just a colour, not an OFF colour!

Black humour is how one survives in a naughty world.

If you bring the Morlocks into it, well, THAT would be wrong.
