'Nuff foolin', folks. I believe it's a serious question.

A hamster is a small, furry rodent often used in laboratory experiments, but more often kept as a pet by small American children. That's what a hamster is really. But in A2K-speak it's kind of an inside joke. When the site was started up, Craven deKere (q.v.) told us the site was kept running by a group of hamsters running on a treadmill. So if you see a refernce to hamsters on A2K, someone's making a comment about the mechanical workings of this site.
