Look under the title of a thread and you'll see some "reminders" that people put in order to help them find a thread later. Say in the topic you tell a joke. You could put a generic tag like humor but that won't help you much. Say the joke is about monkeys, so you could use 'primate' or 'monkey' as your tag to help you locate it later.
