Have you heard these guys? Once you click on the link the music will begin, no need to click on anything. They're teenagers who got most of their experience playing in the subway, but were trained in classical music.

If you like what you hear just go to Youtube and see them perform.

I liked it, but is the name a misnomer ?
I thought I heard a drum in the background;
maybe its held together by stringz.

At first, I thought this thread might concern
11 dimensional String Theory.

@Cliff Hanger,
There's an Australian band, Fourplay, who are strings only, really, any percussion you hear is them banging on their instruments (and they're not aversed to using plectrums on their violins, violas and cellos to get a variety of sounds).

I remember seeing them at Tilley's with about 20 in the audience (really bad weather in the middle of a freezing winter) and they were fantastic. They did PWEI track and of course the Tartan shoulder's remix of Wonderstuff's Cut Up, they must have been going for over a decade.

They've posted this on their web site, a Rage Against The Machine cover:

@hingehead,
Oh, I wish the recording was a little better, it's kind of hard to tell the quality of the sound.
