It doesn't look like the elk I've seen, but I've only seen Roosevelt Elk in California.

It's a Moose.
Moose (Alces Alces)
Elk or Wapiti (Cervus canadensis)
They are different at the Genus level.
The confusion arises from the British usage of the word "Elk" which is what they (the British) call Moose.
