Pelican tears. That's funny, though.....makes me think of the pelican daughters in King Lear.

Pelicans were thought feed their young by ripping at their breasts and letting the babies drink their blood.

There's no end to crazy animal references in language!

In oz we say "pissed as a newt'. I am sure this slanders newts

Kyoto is one place I'm very sorry I've not gotten to. Had a chance once, should have taken it (always money the problem). On the other hand, constraints can be good as I appreciate the places I have gotten to see.

I know you do too, Tak. Neither of us are blase about travel.
