@Lustig Andrei,
I am familiar with the term, "shikker". My wide knowledge of the lingo Wink probably developed because I am a half-breed...................Litvak on my father's side, galiztiana on my mothers'.

@Phoenix32890,
I have a modest acquaintance with the lingo since one of the docs at work gave me a list of important words to understand, with their fine definitions. Of course I've no idea where that list is now and I have some memory deficits for forty year old information, so I have to resort to frowning in confusion from time to time.

@ossobuco,
This website "The Gantsah Megillah" will help a person learn many popular Yiddish expressions:

http://www.pass.to/glossary/Default.htm

FYI, "gantsah" means the whole thing. Megillah refers to the book of Esther, which is read at the festival of Purim. In Yiddish slang, sometimes referring to "megillah" means making a big deal out of something.

@Phoenix32890,
Thanks. I used to watch a funny cartoon called Magilla Gorilla. I think Hanna-Barbera knew what they were doing when they named the show.

@ossobuco,
tape your mouth shut with duct tape, osso, and try to say "help." I think you'll see what "mmph" means.
Sheesh. That's one funny, funny sign.
