Whoever wrote that seems to have been just a tad inebriated . . .

@Lustig Andrei,
I don't agree. I think the person who wrote it was trying to be helpful. People come to the sink and expect a mirror to be over the sink. They want to check themselves out. No mirror. This person is just reassuring people that they don't have to worry. They look fine.

What a wonderful and magnanimous person. A hero.

@Roberta,
Shicker. Shicker vie ein Goy. You never hoid the expression? What kind'a Yiddish did your folks teach you?

Most common word for "drunk" I ever heard in the Yiddisher shprakke.

But, then, mayve you speak Galiciano. I know from Litvak.

@Lustig Andrei,
Andy, I don't know what you're speaking. You know I'm litvak.

Shiksa and shagatz. Goil goy and boy goy.

Never heard the word for drunk before. I like learning new things. Thanks, kid.

My parents didn't teach me Yiddish. I picked up what I could. Why would they teach me a language they used when they didn't want me to know what they were saying?

@Roberta,
Glad to be of soivice, 'Boita. Shicker is a good word to know if you ever want to tell someone they've had quite enough of the bubbly without 'outsiders' understanding what the hell you're talking about.

@Roberta,
I'm so bad. I thought the person who wrote the sign stole the mirror. THEN he was trying to be helpful lol.

@Irishk,
Actually, that's a good guess. Makes the sign even funnier.

@Lustig Andrei,
Hmmm. I think it's clearly just a wise choice of hygiene before vanity. Note soap dispenser.

@patiodog,
The soap dispenser is the black box on the wall over the sink. No towels, though.

@Butrflynet,
The funny thing about this sign is that it's posted in a cigar factory in El Romana, Dominican Republic. They produce 1 to 1.2 million cigars every week.
