@cicerone imposter,
Thanks, I love these signs and have been lucky enough to see a number of funny signs in person over my travels - as I know you have also.

wondering what prompted the scaffolding company to include this warning...

i mean, are people using scaffolding in an unlawful manner?

HOW would one use scaffolding in an unlawful manner??

are they doing their own independent construction on the building???

i have questions...

@Region Philbis,
I think it's directed at people/kids that start climbing it and stuff.

Keep it simple. I bet that some of the people in the office building (assuming from the second floor) are using it as an improvised smoking lounge and/or break area.

@tsarstepan,

maybe in the old days, when office building windows weren't sealed shut...

(although back then, smokers didn't have to go outside to sneak a cig...)

@Region Philbis,
Oh.
I was thinking it was just scaffolding near the ground.

But, you never know what these nutty kids are gonna get up to nowadays.

@chai2,

this is the kind of scaffolding you walk under.

no doubt kids treat them like monkey bars, something a strongly-worded sign isn't going to prevent...

@Region Philbis,
Obviously, the elevator is slow and always full so people are using the scaffolding to get to their floor!

@BillW,
I know why I never wanted to be a window washer of high buildings. My phobias are many.

@cicerone imposter,
I can overcome my height phobia over a fairly short amount of time, then I'm ok. I use to sit in the doorway of helicopters in Nam. As we were on approach to landing, I would slide out onto the skid and stand just before landing. If we were the first sortie in to the landing zone, I could open up, firing into the bush.... @BillW,
I have visited Vietnam a couple of times, and was able to visit across the whole country from Hanoi (Halong Bay) down to the southern tip of the country's border with Cambodia. Even saw the platform where the last helicopter flew off that platform in Saigon. The War Remembrance Museum was very interesting, and they had that picture of that naked girl escaping the bombing. That one picture essentially told us about that war. For some reason, the opera house in Saigon continues to occupy my mind for some unknown reason when I think about that country. We also had pho at the same restaurant will Bill Clinton ate.

I quit a job in the Gulf of Mexico to avoid helicopters. This a week after one of them struck wires on a rig and everyone aboard was lost.
