"Look! The taller of the two girls measures / is measuring well over a metre and a half!" exclaimed May Fang.

Which word/phrase should be used?

Many thanks.

@tanguatlay,
measures

This is not the most common way of saying how tall someone is, by the way.

@roger,
It may or may not be "the most common" way of saying how tall someone is, but it is perfectly acceptable. Let's confine ourselves to answering the question.

The taller of the two girls measures well over a metre and a half!

@contrex,
This is a language student. Try to help. If we can't do that, let's confine ourselves to minding our own business

@JTT,
Hi JTT

Contrex finds nothing wrong with the sentence, but you ask for context. I don't understand what is the problem with the sentence.

Could you please elaborate?

Many thanks.

@JTT,
JTT, in what context would you find the sentence "The taller of the two girls is measuring well over a metre and a half"?

Just curious.

Roger, could you maybe find some sand that needs pounding?
