The default tag sorting is relevance

I noticed Thomas saying that he's finding a lot of old threads right now. And that's mainly because the tags aren't used very much yet.

The default sorting of topics for the tag pages (you can change them) is to sort all the topics tagged with that tag and order them by the ones most often tagged that way.

So in the long run those pages are going to basically be the most relevant and useful topics for the tag as decided by the community. So right now someone could tag a computer topic "art" and it'd show up on the art grid. But as more people use it to correctly categorize things the more relevant art topics would push out the less relevant ones.

So help us get started. Go to a tag, and pick your favorites. Tagging them will help the pages be more useful to others and more and more useful navigation features will be build off the data you are helping provide.
