Where has the philosophy forum gone? Where are all the discussions I was taking part in? What on Earth were you thinking? What was wrong with the site as it was?

It was explained that the changes were made because of financial loss to the company, and that improvements will be forthcoming.

No it wasn't ("made because of financial loss").

It was made because the old site software couldn't handle the growth and had spent months to years in an unusable state and was headed for a crash.

The login credentials now use email, not username. So you need to use the email for your agrote account.

Email is better in the long run, lots of people who don't use the site regularly forget their username, but rarely their email.

This not not an honest response......you have created a popularity driven site , individual choosing to not use the ill advised popularity functions has no effect. What remains to be seen is if the new a2k will support debate, so far this looks unlikely.

You too. You don't like that you are unpopular here then ignore it just like you used to before. If you don't like the voting system don't use it. Sure a bunch of people are going to ignore you but their right to do so is much more important than your desire not to be ignored.

it is not about me, or about popularity,it is about the ability of a2k to host debate. This is what appears to have been killed....it is also about the ability of a2k to include minority views, and you have of course made any person with a minority view less welcome to participate, less able to participate. It remains to be seen if those who value minority views can still find each other at the new a2k.

This was my initial reaction too. Well, not my initial reaction. But after a few minutes, it became my reaction. The look and feel of the site was one of the main reasons I landed at A2K in the first place.

But, I'm determined to adapt, and as expected it will simply be a matter of adjustment. It is becoming easier and more comfortable already. Give it some more time.
