Digital Camera Resolution (video size)

Even though the still pictures have 1 or 2 megapixels (mine has 7.0 megapixels so I think your figures are a bit out of date) the video (movies) taken with those cameras only use some of the pixels. Video quality will be much worse than still picture quality.

VGA = 640 x 480 = 307,200 pixels = 0.3072 megapixels.

No, you got me wrong contrex; I didn't mean still picture cameras. I talked about camcorders.

You did not mention camcorders anywhere in your post.

Camcorders with 1.0 or 2.0 megapixel sensors, but with 640 x 480 video size, will provide still pictures of 1.0 or 2.0 megapixels, but videos will only be 640 x 480 pixels and there will be little or no difference in video quality between camcorders, except that due to compression, etc.
