I have never done a rebus puzzle before. Can someone give me some ideas on how they work. Going by a dictionary definition of 'rebus' I get the idea that the word represents a picture, but I could be way off the mark.

I thought of something like 'trac' being a cart going backwards. Very simplistic I know, but I am bereft of ideas.

The solution to this one is "crossroads"



Another one might be the letter H, a plus sign, and a picture of an ear. The solution would be H + ear (Hear).
