Always (the twice I've ever heard it) sounds it's parodying The Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again" where Daltrey sings this bit specifically:

And I'm sure it's just me and it makes no sense.

I thought it was going to be a cover of Steve Miller Band's "Fly Like An Eagle" (which is of course all over youtube)

Horace Silver's 'Song For My Father' just came up - the intro instantly made me think of Steely Dan's 'Rikki Don't Lose That Number'. Tell me I'm wrong ;-). Of course post the first 8 bars or so the similarities are few.
