Wondered if anyone could help with this one. It is driving me nuts.
252a. the clue is misgivings. The answer I have ended up with is "abacus".
225d. Fanciful. I have unreAl : A
253d. Spawned. I have Begot: B
237d. Mystified, all at ... I put seA: A
254d. Halt. I put Cease: C
238d. Favours owed. I put i.o.Us: U
255d. Wound marks. I put Scars: S
I cannot see any connection between the clue: Misgivings and the answer I have ended up with ABACUS. Can anyone please put me out my misery!
Do I have the right answer, or have I missed something! Any help would be appreciated.

There was a mix up with the clues in this puzzle. The correct clue for 252a is bead calculator so your answer abacus is correct.
This information was on the Lovatts website, maybe have a quick look there. Your sanity has been returned
