I've been really lazy

at housekeeping since I moved out on my own. I've only vacuumed once, I wash my dishes only when there's several of them and I never put them away anymore, just leave them on the counter. I shop for grocs only when I'm out of cream for coffee, I haven't dusted since I moved in here 5 weeks ago Embarrassed I wipe the bathroom counter about once a week. I never make my bed. God I'm lazy. But it's also liberating.

Anybody else in this wonderful space?

me, sort of.... but I look around and get disgusted and clean about every 7 days. Then again, I have a son, a cat and a dog in the house. There's never a damn thing to eat around here. Always some wine though.

Right now I'm in a lazy place too. Not cleaning up like usual. Hoping to come out of this phase soon.

The best way to force yourself to clean up-plan a party!

I've got white zinfandel.

We have an excessive heat wave here of temperatures 100+ - which is
very unusual for southern Cal - and therefore, no one moves and just sits
in front of the fan. We don't even have airconditioning as we never needed
it (until now).

So doing ANYTHING around the house is an absolut no no...

I wish it would rain!! http://www.kolobok.us/smiles/standart/heat.gif

My excuse for no cleaning all the time like I used to is illness but in fact I am just not too wrapped up in having a clean house any more. Much more fun to live, love, and eat.

Cause when you are over 50 you can do and say what every you want and I am way over 50 and way over being correct.

You should come here - it's nice and cool.

White Zin - I could go for some of that. I'm a Chardonnay girl, myself. Hey, maybe I should have a glass. Smile

Yeah, Tilly - I used to be absolutely nutso anal about a clean and tidy house. Thank God I'm not crazy anymore. It's only dirt, after all Smile

In fact I just went to the fridge and got a cold Negra Modelo. It is hot in S. Calif. today.

Well, you all made me feel slightly, ever so slightly, guilty about not working in my garden this year as I should have.

So, I went out for a while. Now I'm all rashy, but the rhubarb flowers aren't over my head anymore.

I'll worry about inside tomorrow.

Maybe.

As Wilso once said - Wash the dishes, vacuum the floors, clean house, make the bed. . . . Any why? In six months, it's all there to do again.

I paraphrase, of course.

Mame,
I'm right there with ya. This past 3 weeks have been a bit crazy and I've neglected some of the chores I should be keeping up with.

im in the opposite 'liberating' place.

hubby is a slob.
I have lived in his slobby-ness for a long time.

I finally drilled him , after almost 7 years , about how disgusting it was
with a few ultimatums.. house work if there is any, takes only a few minutes and I can walk into my house with out smelling his mess..

im loving it.

I am generally not a clean person.. but there are certain things I dont tolerate.

I just got back from having a mani/pedi. I'd hate to mess them up.
Vaccuumed this morning and threw a few loads of laundry in. That's it for my Saturday.

5 weeks?

You've only been there 5 weeks, and you're worried about cleaning already?!

I'm really good about picking up stuff. My place is almost never cluttered. But I'm not good at actual cleaning. Funny thing I've learned...a house doesn't look dirty as long as it's neat.
