I would appreciate any help in finishing this one. For clue 216 d the clue is neutron-modified atom which I though would be isotope. However if this is correct, the third letter therefore being "o", the across clue 228 reads behave and I thought it should be purport but if the first clue is correct this makes it porport! Any help would be most gratefully received.

My old copy of the Stinker shows the answer is "ISOTOPE"
228a = COMPORT
239a = MONITOR
253a = FEUDAL
