There are many sub-genres of both jazz and blues. I'm a fan of both but I have favorites within each genre. I prefer dixieland and traditional jazz over improvisational and new-age and Delta blues over Chicago-style blues for example.

What are some things that you've heard that you like and I can suggest some others in the same realm.

They've teamed up on quite a few songs including a joint cd titled Riding With The King. Here's the title track from that cd

OGIONIK,

I have been listening to Jazz today and here are some of the highlights so far.

Thelonius Monk - 'Round Midnight
Lee Morgan - The Sidewinder
Miles Davis - Venus de Milo
Stan Getz (featuring Astrud Gilberto) - Eu e Vocé
Dave Brubeck - Blue Rondo a la Turk

Not weird at all.

I just remembered a thread that Sublime1 started a while ago when he first started listening to the blues. You'll find lots of suggestions here.

Stevie during his heavy drug abuse days...and probably the only one of his songs that my wife ever requested me to play/sing for her.

And here is one from Kenny Wayne, the video fits the song quite well, I always wonder exactly what some of those possessions meant to some of the people in the pawn shop, mainly the older black gentleman when he hands over the old beaten up sunburst strat...the first time I saw that...well, it was an emotional moment.

Just to give credit where it is due, it is a common misconception that Kenny is singing these songs, but it is actually a guy named Noah Hunt, you can see him in this video....one hell of a voice.
