What the hell is a portable SD/MMC card reader?

...and why the hell did I just buy one? I was trying to buy a portable flash drive, but I just got it in the mail, and now I have this goddammed thing.

Now, what the f*ck does this thing do? When I hook it in to my computer, nothing happens.

It allows you to insert memory cards (small ones, like the ones that go in phones or digital cameras) and access them on the computer.

So if you have an SD card, and you want to plug it into your computer you can use that card reader to do so.

it's basically a usb device to allow you to store data on a variety of flash memory cards, it's a adapter of sorts

Aaah, I see. I just tried it with my 512 MB card for the camera I have and it worked. Not what I wanted or anything I need, but at least now I know what the hell this stupid thing is. Thanks.

Yeah, I know. And when I was looking, I knew that. In fact, I almost bought a different SD/MMC card reader by accident that same day, but caught my mistake before ordering it. Then later that day I made the same f*cking mistake and got this one. I am so pissed right now.
