Me learn to speakum gooder Engrish. Arso checkie spewring befo makee post.
i found good friends.
i am learning (still) to abstain from discussions with lunatics.... that i don't have to speak on everything i have an opinon about.
i learned quite a bit about music, literature, and art -- things i would be less likely to pick up or stumble across in real life than natural or social sciences.
it's harder and harder to not converse with the lunatics, all threads are lunacy right now. Sort of depressing.

Still, if you choose carefully, you can find excellent discussions.
For example, there are many discussions going on about the Supreme Court's 2nd Amendment decision. One discussion is first-rate:
2nd Amendment Case
I learned that 'twas is not equal to t'was
I learned that forums mimic everyday life plus something extra.
I learned some other things too, but I already forgot them.
I learned a whole heap about a great many good folk who are prepared to give their time to a complete stranger and do not sit in judgment of me.
I learned to trust my instincts better and back away from anyone who would choose to bring me down with intention.
I learned that around the world - I have a number of very good friends who I care deeply for... and love. That's kinda nice.
Just from being on A2K!

'strue, though! There are some people with little knowledge and a heap of misinformation - but they'll tell you all about it as if it were gospel truth. It staggers me how loudmouthed some people can be. No use arguing with them.
I learned more than I'll ever need to know about guns in USA - and that scares me.
There are some nice people around (what Izzie sed!)
Americans (well USA people) ARE different! Not too sure about those Canucks.
I learned that there are a whole lot of other people out there who are slaves to procrastination.
Procrastination, isn't that a song?
when I need serious learning bout history, Id stand by an listen to set and georgeob and fishin .
Most often I like to hear phrases well crafted-JOE NATION , Endymion, and our poet edgar blythe.
I need cooking, gardening movies, art, and everything that is presnted in a discursive yet largely focused fashion, like were all standing around a water cooler just goofing off.
I love learning tricks in art(vivie, she paints), cooking(osso, Kitchen Pete, eh beth hambger) outdoors (Bobsmythawk, nekko, margo and montana), travel (ci mathos) etc. I do miss Cav's tips and Timbers Rennaissance man approach to justabout everything.
I dont trust Wikipedia because Ive seen articles change mightily as the perr reviewing hifts over there.
I like that little dark haired chikky with the pouty look in the nice swim suit on the right of the page.
I like the way that ads are presented in attempts to be relevant.
I like the ability to not have to be serious all the time too. Nobody seems to point out that youre off your meds unless you disagree with their candidate or religion.
Oh yeh, theres the Creationists too, they be funny
I just remembered something else I learned on A2K. Giant insects from long ago were a result of high oxygen content in the atmosphere.
They were discussing this on a discovery show last night and I realized that I already knew the answer (from A2K)
Everybody here is unique. Even the ones I have no use for. I damn near idolize several posters. Would that I had the means to travel extensively.

I have learned that Australian women have a sardonic nature.

Izzat related at all to sardines!
Ain't no sardines 'round here!
Most recently I've learned that sometimes the only way to hold one's dominion is by trying to help somebody else recognize their own.
