Bear thats way better than anything I could hope to achieve.
My impression of the first song was that it was a touch pedestrian. Yeah he sang it but there was very little of the singer in it. It seemed to lack the real powerful and committed raw emotion required.
Its good though just not ...great. You know how they talk about that indefinable something?... Its not there.
The second one is better. More of the performer in it. I felt he meant it.
Both songs are well crafted and a credit to the performers.
Edit: Mumpad said pretty much the same thing as me (without any promting)

Roz, if anybody needs to not give performing career advice...

You don't know anything about my background or my work. I am more than qualified to give advice to amateurs.
And, you obviously know nothing of Bears work.
Immature.... maybe. But, amateur he's not.
I think he's mentioned a couple of times on this thread already that he did not choose the songs. It's a collaberative effort by request for a project.
Immature? Immature? well... that hurts...
I happen to be the standard by which maturity is measured in men in their late 50's who still make a living singing songs and playing music and playing with giant inflatable toys...so show some respect sonny.
