Author Richard Florida published an article explaining the differences in dating scenes from city to city. The map below shows blue dots for cities, large and small, with more single women than men. The orange dots show where more single men live. The East coast and Mid-West generally have larger numbers of women single than men and the West coast is almost exclusively more single-male dominated.

Boston Globe

Boston is a good place for singles to live because there are almost an equal number of single men and women (and lots of them).

Hey, that looks good for me in Seattle! But where are all those single men? Either up in the mountains, fishing or prowling the bars for younger women.Sad

Seriously though, I had heard opposite data from a friend, that Seattle had more single women than men.

I'm also curious about the average age of these single guys. But none the less, thanks for the info. I find that pretty darn interesting.

I think the age range is 25-44 - quite large.

So lets say you out with some girlfriends, where in Boston are you most likely to encounter single guys your age?

I've only met one guy in a non-singles type atmosphere.

Hellifino! I've been single for a very, very long time.
