I said the night you left me,
Nothin' worse could ever happen,
But seeing you with someone else proved that I was wrong.
And when your eyes met mine,
I knew that you were gone forever,
Along with all the reasons , I had for hanging on.
I'd be better off in a pine box,
On a slow train back to Georgia,
Or in the grey walls of a prison doing time.
I think I'd rather die,
And go to hell and face the devil,
Than to lie here with you and him together on my mind.
I always thought that someday,
We might get back together.
I just thought you needed time to spread your wings and fly.
But when I saw the lovin' way,
You held onto each other,
It was all that I could do, not to break right down and cry.
I'd be better off in a pine box,
On a slow train back to Georgia,
Or in the grey walls of a prison doing time.
I think I'd rather die,
And go to hell and face the devil,
Than to lie here with you and him together on my mind.
Girl I'd be better off in a pine box,
On a slow train back from Georgia,
Or in the grey walls of a prison doing time.
I think I'd rather die,
And go to hell and face the devil,
Than to lie here with you and him together on my mind.
I can't lie here with you and him together on my mind

Seems that declining sales along with some health and luck problems put his career on hold. But on another site, it said that he was about to release a newish album..some old songs redone, along with some cover songs.
Train roll on, on down the line,
Please take me far, away
Now I feel the wind blow outside my door,
Means I'm leaving my woman at home.
Tuesday's gone with the wind.
Well my baby's gone with the wind.
And I don't know oh where I'm going.
I just want to be left alone.
Well, when this train ends I'll try again,
But I'm leaving my woman at home
(Tuesday's gone with the wind.)
My baby's gone with the wind.
Train roll on.
Tuesday's gone.
Train roll on many miles from my home,
See, I'm riding my blues away. Yeah.
Tuesday, you see, she had to be free
But somehow I've got to carry on.
Lord And.
(Tuesday's gone with the wind)
My baby's gone with the wind.
Train roll on.
Ahh on.
Cause my baby's gone.
Im riding my blues day.
Train roll on blue.
(Ride on train.)
Ride my blues day.
Goodbye Tuesday.
Ahh Train.

Johnny B Goode
Chuck Berry
Deep down Louisiana close to New Orleans
Way back up in the woods among the evergreens
There stood a log cabin made of earth and wood
Where lived a country boy named Johnny B. Goode
Who never ever learned to read or write so well
But he could play the guitar just like a ringing a bell
Go go
Go Johnny go
Go
Go Johnny go
Go
Go Johnny go
Go
Go Johnny go
Go
Johnny B. Goode
He used to carry his guitar in a gunny sack
Go sit beneath the tree by the railroad track
Oh, the engineerswould see him sitting in the shade
Strumming with the rhythm that the drivers made
People passing by they would stop and say
Oh my that little country boy could play
Go go
Go Johnny go
Go
Go Johnny go
Go
Go Johnny go
Go
Go Johnny go
Go
Johnny B. Goode
His mother told him "Someday you will be a man,
And you will be the leader of a big old band.
Many people coming from miles around
To hear you play your music when the sun go down
Maybe someday your name will be in lights
Saying Johnny B. Goode tonight."
Go go
Go Johnny go
Go go go Johnny go
Go go go Johnny go
Go go go Johnny go
Go
Johnny B. Goode

I've been holding this one back, but....
I wake up every mornin', I stumble out of bed
Stretchin' and yawnin', another day ahead
It seems to last forever, and time goes slowly by
Till babe and me's together, then it starts to fly
'Cause the moment that he's with me, time can take a flight
The moment that he's with me, everything's alright
Night time is the right time, we make love
Then it's his and my time, we take off
Chorus:
My baby takes the morning train, he works from nine till five and then
He takes another home again to find me waitin' for him
chorus
He takes me to a movie, or to a restaurant, to go
Slow dancing, anything I want
Only when he's with me, I catch light
Only when he gives me, makes me feel alright
chorus
All day I think of him, dreamin' of him constantly
I'm crazy mad for him, and he's crazy mad for me
When he steps off that train, I'm makin' a fool, a fight
Work all day to earn his pay, so we can play all night
chorus
(chorus repeats out)
He's always on that morning train
He works so hard
To find me waiting for him...
GO SHEENA!!!!

Maybebe this qualifies it has train in it so here goes
Interstate love song - Stone temple pilots
Waiting on a Sunday afternoon
for what i read between the lines,
your lies
Feeling like a hand in rusted shame
so do you laugh or does it cry?

Leavin on a southern train
only yesterday you lied
promises of what i seemed to be
only watch the time go by
all of these things you said to me.
breathing is the hardest thing to do.
with all i've said
and all that's left for yo,
you lied- good bye
Leavin on a southern train
only yesterday you lied
promises of what i seemed to be
only watch the time go by
all of these things I said to you.

Most of mine just mention a train, they might not be "train songs", as most of those have already been posted.

Crazy Train
Ozzy
Crazy, but that's how it goes
Millions of people living as foes
Maybe it's not to late
To learn how to love
And forget how to hate
Mental wounds not healing
Life's a bitter shame
I'm going off the rails on a crazy train
I've listened to preachers
I've listened to fools
I've watched all the dropouts
Who make their own rules
One person conditioned to rule and control
The media sells it and you have the role
Mental wounds still screaming
Driving me insane
I'm going off the rails on a crazy train
I know that things are going wrong for me
You gotta listen to my words
Yeh-h
Heirs of a cold war
That's what we've become
Inheriting troubles I'm mentally numb
Crazy, I just cannot bear
I'm living with something that just isn't fair
Mental wounds not healing
Who and what's to blame
I'm going off the rails on a crazy train

Long Journey Home (this particular one done by Don Stover and The Lilly Brothers)
Black smoke's arising
and it surely is a train
surely is a train boy
surely is a train
black smoke's arising
and it surely is a train
I'm on my long journey home.
Lost all my money
but a two dollar bill
two dollar bill boy, two dollar bill
lost all my money
but a two dollar bill
I'm on my long journey home.
Dark and it's raining
and I gotta go home
gotta go home, but I gotta go home
dark and it's raining
and I gotta go home
I'm on my long journey home.
Homesick and lonesome
and I'm feeling kinda blue
feeling kinda blue boy, feeling kinda blue
homesick and lonesome
and I'm feeling kinda blue
I'm on my long journey home.
Black smoke's arising
and it surely is a train
surely is a train boy surely is a train
black smoke's arising
and it surely is a train
I'm on my long journey home.

Every time I hear that lonesome train roll down the track
Going away to unknown destinations
I believe there's someone out there making the great escape
Just moving on, suddenly gone and so unexpectedly
It might hit you on a sunny afternoon
Without a warning there's a thought, it just comes over you
And is the shadow on a sidewalk someone like you?
In a blink of an eye, waving goodbye
It's time you made your getaway
In a suburb somewhere someone's quietly planning their getaway
Traveling light, in case they might get a change of heart
It's the bravest move they'll ever make, but they have to make the break
That's the risk that they take, so don't hesitate, then so unexpectedly
It might hit you on a sunny afternoon
Without a warning there's a thought, it just comes over you
And is the shadow on the sidewalk someone you knew?
It's time you made your getaway
It might hit you on a sunny afternoon
Without a warning there's a thought, it just comes over you
And is the shadow on the sidewalk someone like you?
It's time you made your getaway
You'll make the great escape
Get out that door before it's too late
Hear that lonesome train
The lonesome train

Black Girl (also known as My Girl)
Black girl black girl
Don't lie to me
Tell me where did you sleep last night
In the pines in the pines
Where the sun never shines
I've been shivering the whole night through
Black girl black girl
Where will you go
I'm going where the cold winds blow
My husband was a railroad man
Killed a mile and a half from here
His head was caught in a driving wheel
And his body has never been found
Black girl black girl
Don't lie to me
Tell me where did you sleep last night
In the pines in the pines
Where the sun never shines
I been shivering the whole night through

Freight train
Written by: Elisabeth "Libba" Cotton
Freight train freight train goin so fast
Freight train freight train goin so fast
Please don t tell what train I m on
So they won t know where I ve gone.
Freight train, freight train, comin round the bend
Freight train, freight train, gone again
One of these days turn that train around
Go back to my hometown.
Freight train freight train goin so fast
Freight train freight train goin so fast
Please don t tell what train I m on
So they won t know where I ve gone.
One more place I d like to be
One more place I d love to see
To watch those old blue ridge mountains climb
As I ride ol number nine.
Freight train freight train goin so fast
Freight train freight train goin so fast
Please don t tell what train I m on
So they won t know where I ve gone.
When I die please bury me deep
Down at the end of bleecker street
So I can hear ol number nine
As she goes rollin by.
Freight train freight train goin so fast
Freight train freight train goin so fast
Please don t tell what train I m on
So they won t know where I ve gone.

Train Train - Blackfoot
Oh, here it comes
Well, train, train, take me on out of this town
Train, train, Lord, take me on out of this town
Well, that woman I'm in love with, Lord, she's Memphis bound
Well, leavin' here, I'm just a raggedy hobo
Lord, I'm leaving here, I'm just a raggedy hobo
Well, that woman I'm in love with, Lord, she's got to go
Well, goodbye pretty mama, get yourself a money man
Goodbye, pretty mama, Lord, get yourself a money man
You take that midnight train to Memphis
Lord, leave me if you can
Oh, take that midnight train to Memphis
Lord, leave me if you can
Oh, take that train, baby

Artist: Quad City Djs Lyrics
Song: C'mon 'n ride it the train Lyrics
1 Come on ride the train hey ride it woo woo
Come on ride the train hey ride it woo woo
Come on ride the train woo woo hey
Ride it woo woo
Come on ride the train
Woo woo hey ride it woo woo
Come on ride the train
It's the choo choo ride it woo woo
Come on ride the train it's the choo choo train
Come on ride the train it's the choo choo
Ride it, woo woo
Come on, ride the train, it's the choo choo train
2-Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah
I think I can, I think I can
I think I can, I think I can
Way deep down south, where we play this game
It's them Quad City DJs and you,
We call it the train
So if you wanna ride your thing
Just come on down the train
We gonna rock, ooh, Lord, just jump aboard, baby
So get your next of kin, your sister and your friend
Pack it up now, choo choo, ride on this, choo choo
And, boo, you need to stop faking, and come on with me
I wanna take you home with me, to be alone with me
And I can see you wanna hide it, come on, just divide it
And please don't knock it, until you ride it
So to all of you girls, you know, I'm calling your name
Michelle, Tamika and Tanya
Wanna ride this train, ride out now
(repeat 1)
3-If you feel like dancing, well come on, it's up to you
We got the sound to keep you getting down, down
The train is coming through
(repeat 2, 2)
I can smell them tranquil breezes from a mile away
Graduated from Booze, up to allazay
Baby, you looking tough to death
Got your weave done right, it's on so tight
Now it's on tonight, yeah, yeah
Right about now it's about that time for me to holler
Girl, I wanna waller in the back of my Impala
Woo, don't need no tickets for this thing
Just jump on in, let me hit them switches on the train
And it ain't no thing, it's all the same
Get on the train tracks
Here we go, so get on the floor
And put a hump in your back
So pack your bags, come on, get ready, say what?
We're coming through your town
Move your arm up and down
And make that choo choo sound, like this
Ride that choo choo, woo woo...
Come on it's the choo choo, woo woo
Come on it's the choo choo train

Artist/Band: Chambers Kasey
Lyrics for Song: Freight Train
Well I just came down from Chippewa
I had a station wagon and a hundred dollars
I was thinkin' about the girl I'd lost a year before
I hadn't seen her for some time
I thought that I might go on by
When your memory came floodin' in
And you closed that door
CHORUS
Wish I was a freight train baby
Wish I was a diesel locomotive
I'd come whistlin' down your track
Crashin' in your door
Wish I was a freight train baby
Wish I didn't have a heart
And you'd need a shovel for the coal
Just to get me started
Wish I was a freight train baby
Wish I was a freight train
Well every time I talk to you
And I hear your jealous lies
I feel like I've been left abandoned
On some old railway side
And every time I hear your voice
My water just gets cold
My stoker will not stoke
And my boiler will not boil
CHORUS
Well every time I fell behind
And I could not get ahead
I wish someone would pull the lever
And give me a little sand
And every time I slip behind
Even further back
I wish some switchman would come out of the fog
And change my track
Wish I was a freight train baby
Wish I was a diesel locomotive
I'd come whistlin' down your track
Crashin' in your door
Wish I was a freight train baby
Wish I didn't have a heart
And you'd need a shovel for the coal
Just to get me started
Wish I was a freight train baby
Wish I was a freight train . . .

I Never Will Marry
is not exactly a train song, but it uses a train to convey a great deal of emotion.
Some say that love's a gentle thing
But it's only brought me pain
"Cause the only one I ever did love
Has gone on the midnight train
I never will marry, never take me a wife
I expect to live single all the rest of my life
The train pulled out the whistle blew
With a low and a lonesome moan
She's gone, she's gone like the midnight dew
And left me here alone
I never will marry, never take me a wife
I expect to live single all the rest of my life
There's many a change in the winter wind
And a change in the clouds design
There's many a change in a young girls heart
But never a change in mine
I never will marry, never take me a wife
I expect to live single all the rest of my life
