Which is one of the most memorable train journeys that you recollect?
@komalraheja7,
The Indian train where we all got dysentery.
@komalraheja7,
I haven't been on many long distance train rides but the Acela train from NY to Boston is quite a treat. Much nicer then taking the silly bus for such a city to city sojourn.
1969: sitting in the first class dome of the Super Chief deep into the night, after consuming a fabulous steak dinner, as we were racing 110MPH through Missouri with the mars light on the head end illuminating the way in its figure 8 pattern
Cant remember the year (1996?)but my first trip on the ICE frankfurt - hamburg route standing watching the speedometer top out barely feeling any movement at all...it was a revelation in smooth speed
It's a marketing ploy, folks . . .
@Setanta,
Feels like one, but what the heck are they selling - besides Indian trains?
@roger,
what the heck does it matter? This obsession with trying to guess the motivation of a2k members long ago became toxic to conversation.
