he may be suffering from pretension what with the weekend and all

what i don't understand as a non-cruciverbalist is why you would cheat or if you would, why you wouldn't look it up on the net elsewhere?

Thank you for the help. I thought of pretended, but wasn't sure enough to write it in without confirmation from someone.

I'm suffering with a wog caught on the long weekend, forget pretension.

Most of us consider our cruciverballing to be brain exercise (it is said to help ward off dementia) and because we just love doing the puzzles. However, we do not claim to know it all and like most other endeavours, when we are stuck we look for help, be that in a dictionary, a thesaurus or other reference book, on the net or asking on A2k. (It is referred to as using your resource material to expand your knowledge.)

Are athletes cheating when they use a trainer or equipment at a gym?

There is an old saying - Ask a question and you are a fool for five minutes; don't ask and you are a fool forever.

Thanks lezzles I agree totally with your analysis.

My tongue was firmly planted in my cheek - gee this yoga has made me lithely.

And funny how aphorisms are always pithy.
