A friend emailed me a math problem. I don't know the answer to this problem and I was wondering if anyone here can solve it.

X = 3-Y
Y = 12/X
Z = 1/X + 1/Y

solve for Z without rounding or truncating any decimals

x=3-y
so
x+y=3

y=12/x
so
xy=12

z=1/x+1/y
completing fractions
z=y/(xy)+x/(xy)=(x+y)/(xy)
& from above
z=3/12=1/4

Hope this helps
