Can anyone please tell me if there is a rule of thumb regarding the usage of GRAY or GREY (referring to Cashwords 313d warship colour).
Thanks, Emma-Kate
As far as I know, apart from specific spelling of surnames, usage in Australia is 'GREY' (officially we speak English, not American).
I would be interested if there are other opinions on this.
Thanks Lezzles, thought it might be worth checking. I lean towards grey too, so that will do me. I will still keep an eye on the thread though, to see if opinions differ. Thanks again. Emma-Kate
No problems!
By the way, welcome to A2K, emmakate, and good luck with your Lovatts!
A simple google search verifies Lezzles assumption:
Check grey on this site
My entry has been submitted to Lovatts, and my copy shows the answer as "GREY". Just to verify Lezzles submission.
in the free dictionary gray comes first with grey being a variant of gray.
in the free dictionary grey is a variant of gray.
I don't think you will be punished for using either entry, i'm sure this will be explained in "THE JUDGE SUMS UP" in Mays issue
Personally I will be using the version grey, as I think it looks better.

I'm having trouble getting onto the site now as I cant use the Computer at work.
In the Internet cafes which I use sometimes of a lunch-time - for some
reason I just can't get on at times. Consequently I'm behind everyone else in getting the answers.
Thanks again
