I love my Dyson. Especially with cats living in the house. It is absolutely great!

I am pretty happy with mine.

I have had it for about seven years. I thought it had stopped working a few years ago, and took it in for service. It was out of warranty.

The fella found nothing wrong with it (it was the extension cord Embarrassed Embarrassed Embarrassed Embarrassed Embarrassed Embarrassed Embarrassed Embarrassed Embarrassed Embarrassed Embarrassed Embarrassed Embarrassed Embarrassed Embarrassed Embarrassed ) but he serviced it and replaced the filter for nothing.

Later, I broke a part of it when I tripped over the cat and stomped on it in high heels.

It is good with pet hair.....but you can get a wee motorized head for upholstery.

I was curious when I bought it, so I cleaned thoroughly with my old (but very good) Volta. Then, immediately, I vacuumed with the new Dyson. It picked up a good half crap-catcher of stuff the previous cleaner missed.

BUT...you have to get up close and personal with the crap....no dainty dust-bags.

There are now way cheaper machines based on the same principles.....I have no idea if they are as good or durable.

we have a Miele Orion and it can suck the skin off a peach from across a room. We have wooden floors and only the Miele is able to do such a good job. Its also very quiet and is HEPA.
We have an electrolux for the upstairs but it cant compare with the Miele. Keep your Dysons

Oh...just recalled, it was a MIELE I replaced with my Dyson, and the Dyson got heaps more crap from where the Miele had just been.

To be fair, the Miele did not have a power head.
