My poor kitty has either a scratch or something in his eye. I want to flush it out, but when I tried, the water didnt even hit his eye. Maybe I'm not doing it right. I've tried using a damp cloth. It just seemed to get more irritated. I knew if i could just flush it out, then he'd probably be fine. Any suggestions?

Kitties are like in humans in a way. Their tear ducts will help to clean out any impurities by 'watering' which you would see in the corner of his eyes. If it's a scratch it's quite likely the little feller will only be irritated with you for trying to get out something that can't come out >.< (wear gloves and a protective suit -lol)
Sometimes I have seen my kitties get a cold. I can tell this because they have what vets call an 'inner eyelid' that goes partially over the inner part of their eye. (and looks like a scratch on the eye itself) Without a bit more detail I'm not really sure if that's the case but whenever this happens with my cat normally a few days it will go away. One time I took the kitty to vet because he didn't appear to have much energy as well. A round of antibitoics cleared it up in a few days. Hope this helps.
Wow
Wow. Thank you for your help. It actually did clear up on its own though. But I truly appreciate your advice

I'd avoid any more 'experimentation" on your part and take your cat to a vet. Constant flushing could damage the cornea. So be very careful.
I take a soft tissue to clean the corner of my cats eye. He has sleep in the corner of his eye all the time. I think it irritates me more then it bothers him.
