Hoping someone can help me. I am trying to find out what the value of two Martin guitars would be. One is a 1956 Martin D28 Acoustic and the other is a 1969 D35.

I have no idea how to even go about googling this. I'd appreciate any help!

Cool cjhsa! I guess the reason the thing is worth so much is it is from the 1833 Collectible thingy. I'm gonna see what they say!

Ok don't know what to think about this but it just doesn't sound right to me. I have talked to a few other people and they say it (the1956 D28) is worth anywhere from $25,000 to $50,000 depending on the condition of the guitar.

Quote:
Your Martin D-28 (1956) with OHSC would sell for around $6000-$8000.

The buy / trade value would likely be $4300 / $4400.

Your Martin D-35 (1969) with OHSC would sell for around $3500-$4500.

The buy / trade value would likely be $2450 / $2550.

Yes ma'am it is. Now I don't know if there are 1956 D28 guitars that are not the 1833 collectibles. If there are then maybe that's why he gave that estimate. I emailed him again and asked about them being 1833 Collectibles. Will let you know what he says.

Embarrassed I am so sorry! Don't ask me why I thought you were female because I honestly couldn't tell you why I thought that.

I posted my question on a couple of guitar forums also. Will let y'all know what I hear when I hear it.

No problem. Good luck with that!

On a side note I can tell you that while the folks on the Nuge board are very knowledgeable about things like guitars, they tend to be Michigan-centric. Michigan, having been in recession for so long, doesn't understand the value of things.... that's why I can't sell my house... Laughing To be honest, it's getting bad. Foks here are stupid, and proud of it.

Recently I was reading Sports Illustrated while waiting in an office. A person from my current city had written a nasty comment about Marion Jones - even making a note to the dollar about her quarter million dollar house in Texas as if it was some sort of big deal. ****, I live in Michigan and my house cost more than that... why I can't sell it....

Laughing yeah! That's it! You showed your sensitive side. (insert the Whew! smiley here because I can't get it to work!)

I am so sorry you have having that problem cjsha. Things are just a mess aren't they?
