We've known this for years now ....

there is still paperwork to be done yet, but I paid cash for that house this afternoon.

tomorrow I will go change the locks and start securing the place as best I can.

and Ima mow the yard before I can't...

tomorrow will be a long day, but I hope to have it locked up before I leave town.

gonna hafta start early, I missed getting money in the bank tonight by 10 minutes.

got a call while gram and I were sitting enjoying a bowl of gumbo at the fish jernt.

I am rigging at the expo hall on Monday morning.

(actually I will be in a man lift taking down signage for the blacktop nationals, but it is rigging pay scale)

I needed a check on the 15th next month. a month is too long in between. I'm not in the army...

I am going to explore in the cellar tomorrow and see how practical adding a bathroom is...

I had a solid night's sleep for the first time in a while. even my belly feels decent this morning...

gonna load up some plywood and go pick up my generator.

gotta be to the bank before noon.

this kinda reminds me of that stupid made up drama "storage wars" that smoky used to watch daily. hourly sometimes...

I'm gambling that I can do it all myself.

4 years ago the place was worth a hella lot more than I paid. if I can get it back to anywhere close to that point, I win.

and I can sell it and go buy a place in the country if I can't take the city any more.

but my guess is that I stay there until gram goes.

I can be at her place in 5 minutes now if she calls...

I think I can turn the second story into a plant heaven retreat from the world.

and I'm going to take a stronger look at the back parking area. it may get fenced into a small private pond garden instead...

Fingers crossed the inspection goes well - but let's face it, you can turn your hand to just about anything, so if there are any repairs, within reason you're better able than the average person to fix them.

Somehow it all sounds good - you'll be near to gram, you'll hopefully make a big profit on it when you do sell - you've performed magic with the garden you have now, so you can do it again with the new place. And the plant haven sounds idyllic!

With luck, you'll be sitting on a gold mine!

got my plywood, mower, and implements of destruction all loaded.

gonna store the mower over to gram's for now when I'm not using it.

she's gonna be handier than she thinks for me.

if I get wonky, I can go crash in her AC till I feel better.

and she will have company, even if it is funky.

still trying to get ahold of the guy with the generator, but everything else lines up for a good run at success...

Have a great exploration. I have hopes for fish in the backyard - that can be observed from the breezeway on a sweltering day.

got the back door screwed shut, and the deadbolt changed and fixed to work for now in the front door.

mower broke the pull cord just before it was gonna start. so Ima go trade it for another one and try again tomorrow.

got the generator in the cab of my truck, and a junk easy chair on top of everything, headed for the dumpster on the farm. gonna haule a few more pickup loads before I haul it away. then I won't have to put one down at the townhouse...

done over to mr vw's gonna take my grilled trout dinner and go eat it with stinkster...

sticking over to mr vw's to eat. Casey took the kids on an errand, and it is suddenly peaceful here again.

Ima cook his dinner for him while he's gone. (I actually volunteered to watch the boys, but I'm guessing he knew my heart wasn't in it since I packed up when they rolled in the first time) frozen cordon bleus on a cookie sheet. I can handle it while I nibble on my fresh grilled trout...

mr vw currently has an extry lawnmower. gonna see if he wants to sell it before I go haggle with my guy...

and the lady that owns the fish market wants my chickens if I cut loose of them.

she's enamored with my eggs...
