@ehBeth,
I think so too. Love how clever the passing of the cups and all of it are. Just so much fun.

good golly it's been a hell of a fortnight...

and its hot like hell again.

it's all in her court now. my end is wrapped up nicely and I'm ready to own this junkyard.

sent her a signed contract this afternoon so she has all weekend to stew on it...

hauled in a giant load of scrap. `1200 # on my poor little half ton pickup.

so tonight I am celebrating. (and probably mowing)

I got some charcoal and a pound of cheap frozen cod and some peppers and shrooms, and some brussels sprouts. gonna soak 'em in mustard sauce and grill them...

and I cracked a celebratory bottle of jack.

"tennessee honey"

never tasted anything quite like it.

honey liqueur blended with old number 7.

mmmmmmmmmmmm....

@ehBeth,
the front is half mown...

both me and my little mower that could needed a rest.

I'll have to red green a flashlight on the front of it to finish tonight.

I'll worry about the back yard tomorrow, I have the sprinkler running out there tonight, and wet grass would choke my little wonder mower...

5 hp, 22 inch single cutter. chain drive.

older than me...

looks kinda like this, but older and crustier.

(I was unable to find one with a flashlight duct taped on the nose...)

damn this honey jack is tasty.

gonna hafta work on mowing straight lines I think...

I don't wanna jinx it or anything, but...

even the royals are giving me a positive sign tonight.

1-0 in the ninth after scratching out a run on a steal in the first.

(I suspect Frenchy was lockered next to Moose at some point, and some of the suck rubbed off...)

gonna watch the end before I go moonlight mow. (I got it all done near the trees. I been unseated for the last time)

done mowing for today. (there's only 3 minutes left)

and it looks good by flashlight.

hoping some of the light show and moisture I can see over the wheat fields makes it this far east...

the porch and ramp I built last summer for smoky finally has matured into the yard and plants to look like a home.

and gram will appreciate the convenience when she visits.

pictures tomorrow if I can get some help posting them...

damned moles.

@Rockhead,
Great to see you back, Rockhead, it's been all too quiet whilst you've been away! Sounds as if things are finally going right for you?

@vonny,
it may still be mostly quiet here. I have no sound on my computer after I brought it back to life. and no budget to get it fixed right now.

also, the fat lady has not sung yet, I could be headed for homeless on a phone call...

Kansas City got my rain, so I have the sprinkler out doing the rounds on the front yard. sometimes I wish I didn't have an acre of grass out there...

but it's very parklike when it is taken care of. big trees and bushes.

not sure if it is a coon or one of my wild cats, but someone is getting into my catfood tub on the back porch at night. gonna hafta set up my live trap I think...

@Rockhead,
Let's hope that when the phone does ring, it will be good news. After all the hard work you've put into the place, it would be criminal if it didn't become totally your own!

Something getting into your catfood tub? Region posted what cold be the solution on one of the other threads - is this your back porch?

@vonny,
no, mine is rickety wooden and enclosed. I leave the door open for a breeze through the kitchen window. but my girls protect their food about as well.

I have a turtle that keeps raiding their plate...

I put an X on him to make sure it was the same one. I carry him back by the pond (as he pisses himself) and a day or two later he is back...

@Rockhead,
Turtles and raccoons - magic! The most exotic wildlife we get in our garden are foxes and squirrels! Oh, and the occasional frog or hedgehog! Here's a cute raccoon thieving cat food - love his plate flinging at the end!

@vonny,
I have one fox and countless coyotes.

oddly, very few squirrels. but in the city they are plentiful...

I keep forgetting to bring my camera to mr vw's. he has a pack of the buggers raiding his bird feeder by the shop. it's quite comical to watch them contort to get to it...

most of my wildlife is of the winged variety.

I have doves and owls and hawks and cardinals and orioles (sometimes)...

had wild turkeys this spring.

I am working to attract hummers, but so far dragonflies and monarchs are all I can get.

plus my 14 egg-laying ladies and buford.

@Rockhead,
We get lots of squirrels, but only grey ones - in my native Northumbria we have beautiful red squirrels, but here in the South-East, they've just about been wiped out by the greys.

Loads of birds, but seldom anything exotic. Mainly blackbirds, magpies, crows, tits, sparrows, thrushes, starlings, chaffinches, robins ... and a lot of pigeons. The bird feeding stations are pretty busy when we have snow on the ground!

Looking forward to seeing your photos when you get round to posting them!

our squirrels are red. over by the Missouri border they turn grey...

I have to take the photos first. trying to get my mowing done so you can find the gardens.
